What are the three steps to a solar quote?
You tell us about your home, the installation partner surveys it, and you receive a written proposal with a fixed price.
Tell us about your home
Fill in the short form on the quote page or call us on 0141 230 0198. We ask about your roof, your electricity usage and what you are interested in — solar, battery, heat pump or a combination. Takes about two minutes. We check your address for conservation area or tenement issues before going further.
Survey by our installation partner
Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd visits your property at no cost. They check the roof structure, orientation, pitch, shading, the condition of the slates or tiles, the consumer unit and the best route for cables. They hold MCS certification (IAA10151), TrustMark registration (3559930) and Gas Safe registration (559575). They survey from their base in Perth, roughly an hour and a quarter from Paisley.
Your written proposal
You receive a written proposal with exact costs, projected savings, equipment specifications and a timeline. The illustrative ranges on this site become a fixed price once the surveyor has seen the roof. The installation contract is between you and the installation partner directly — not with Solar Panels Paisley.
Who does what — the advisory service and the installation partner?
We advise and connect; the partner surveys, installs and certifies.

We are an advisory and quotation service, part of Scottish Energy Efficiency. We take your enquiry, discuss your options, check for conservation area or tenement issues, and connect you with our installation partner. We do not hold MCS certification or any installation accreditation. We do not carry out installations.
Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd
Our installation partner. Company SC484353, incorporated 2014. They survey your property, design the system, install it, commission it and issue the MCS certificate. They handle all SP Energy Networks (DNO) paperwork and Smart Export Guarantee registration. Your installation contract is with them directly.
How long does it take from enquiry to installation?
Typically four to eight weeks, depending on survey availability and any planning requirements.
Enquiry to callback: We call within one working day of receiving your form, from 0141 230 0198.
Callback to survey: The installation partner schedules a survey at a time that suits you. This is usually within one to two weeks, depending on their diary.
Survey to proposal: You receive a written proposal within a few working days of the survey.
Proposal to installation: Once you accept, the installation is typically completed within two to four weeks. Most domestic solar installations are finished in a single day on site.
If planning consent is needed — for conservation areas or listed buildings — add the time for the Renfrewshire Council application, which varies.
