Commercial Solar and Battery Storage in Paisley & Renfrewshire

Solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and heat pumps for businesses, farms and public-sector buildings across Paisley, Renfrewshire and Inverclyde. Surveyed, designed and installed through MCS-certified partners.

Who is commercial solar for?

Any business or organisation with a roof, land and a daytime electricity bill.

We work with businesses, warehouses and industrial units across Paisley, Renfrewshire and Inverclyde. Hospitality venues, schools, community buildings and farms all benefit from on-site generation that reduces the electricity bought from the grid at the daytime rate.

If your operation uses electricity during daylight hours — whether that is refrigeration, machinery, lighting, heating or IT — a solar system sized to your load can offset a meaningful portion of what you would otherwise buy. Farms with barn roofs or ground space can accommodate larger arrays.

What we install

Commercial solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and heat pumps for larger buildings.

Solar PV

Roof-mounted or ground-mounted arrays sized to your daytime load and available space.

Battery storage

Commercial-scale batteries that store surplus generation and charge from off-peak tariffs.

EV charging

Charge points installed alongside solar, allowing fleet charging from on-site generation.

Heat pumps

Air source heat pumps for larger buildings replacing oil, LPG or gas heating systems.

How savings work for a business

Four factors determine how much a commercial solar system saves.

Daytime usage

The more electricity your business uses during daylight hours, the more a solar array offsets. Operations running Monday to Friday during the day see the highest offset because generation peaks when consumption is highest.

Tariff

Your electricity unit rate determines the value of each unit of solar generation. Businesses on higher daytime rates benefit more from self-consumption. Surplus exported to the grid earns Smart Export Guarantee payments at rates set by each supplier.

Roof or ground space

The available area sets the maximum array size. Large warehouse roofs and open farmland accommodate bigger systems, while smaller commercial roofs may suit a more compact array paired with battery storage.

Export

Electricity generated but not used on site is exported to the grid. Smart Export Guarantee payments provide a return on exported units, though self-consumption is worth more per unit than export. A battery shifts surplus to periods when you would otherwise buy from the grid.

Interest-free credit up to £30,000, subject to status.

How it works

1

Site survey

We visit your premises to assess roof structure, orientation, shading, available space, your consumer unit and your electricity usage profile.

2

Design

We design a system sized to your load, specifying panels, battery capacity, EV charging or heat pumps as required. The design and projected generation are set out in your written proposal.

3

Installation through MCS-certified partners

We install through MCS-certified partners, who handle the installation, G99 notification to SP Energy Networks and MCS certification paperwork.

4

Aftercare

After commissioning, we help you register for the Smart Export Guarantee and provide the documentation you need. Warranty and guarantee terms are confirmed in writing on your quotation.

Commercial solar questions

Is commercial solar worth it for a Paisley business?
For most businesses with daytime electricity usage, a well-sized solar system reduces the units bought at the daytime rate. How much depends on your tariff, roof orientation, available space and how much of your usage falls during daylight hours. We assess this at a site survey and set out the projected generation on your written quote.
Can I install solar on a farm or agricultural building?
Yes. Farms across Renfrewshire and Inverclyde often have large barn roofs or ground space suitable for solar arrays. Ground-mounted systems are an option where roof space is limited or unsuitable. We survey the site, check grid connection capacity with SP Energy Networks, and design a system sized to your usage.
What about battery storage for a business?
A commercial battery stores surplus solar generation for use outside daylight hours and allows overnight charging on off-peak tariffs. This is particularly useful for businesses with evening shifts or continuous operations. Battery capacity is sized to your load profile and confirmed at survey.
Can you add EV charging alongside solar?
Yes. EV charging points can be installed alongside a solar and battery system, allowing your business to charge vehicles from on-site generation. This reduces the draw on the grid and can lower fuelling costs for electric vehicle fleets. The installation is designed and costed as part of your overall proposal.
How long does a commercial installation take?
From enquiry to installation typically takes six to twelve weeks, depending on survey availability, grid connection approval from SP Energy Networks, and the scale of the system. Larger installations may take longer. We install through MCS-certified partners and the timeline is confirmed in your written proposal.
