What does Solar Panels Paisley actually do?

We advise and quote. Our installation partner surveys and installs.

Solar Panels Paisley is a renewable energy advisory and quotation service. We are a sub-brand of Scot Energy Efficiency Ltd. We help homeowners in Paisley, Renfrewshire and the surrounding PA postcodes understand whether solar panels, battery storage or a heat pump is right for their property, and we prepare an initial quote based on what you tell us.

We are not an installer and we do not hold installer certification ourselves. We install through MCS-certified partners. We do not carry out installations, and we do not employ tradespeople. When you proceed past the initial quote, we connect you with our installation partner, who surveys the property, designs the system, installs it and issues the MCS certificate. Your contract for the installation is with them, not with us.

We believe this model is more honest than sites that collect your details and sell them to multiple installers. Your enquiry goes to one advisory service and one installation partner. That is the whole chain.

Who is your installation partner?

We install through MCS-certified partners.

Your installation partner surveys the property, designs the system, installs it and issues the MCS certificate. Warranty and guarantee terms are confirmed in writing on your quotation.

Why a Paisley-specific solar service?

Because Renfrewshire has questions a generic Scottish solar site cannot answer properly.

Paisley's housing stock is unlike anywhere else in Scotland. Red sandstone tenements through the town centre, mill-era workers' rows around Ferguslie and Anchor, Victorian villas at Castlehead and Oakshaw, interwar semis at Ralston and Hunterhill, ex-council estates at Linwood and Foxbar, newer builds at Dargavel in Bishopton, and stone cottages and farms out toward Lochwinnoch and Howwood. Each has its own roof type, access issues and planning considerations.

The tenement question comes up constantly. If you live in a flat, the roof is shared, and solar needs consent from the other owners through the factor. The conservation area question matters too — Oakshaw, the Abbey and town centre, Castlehead and the mill areas all have restrictions that may require planning consent from Renfrewshire Council. A generic site that does not know Paisley cannot give you an honest answer on either.

We also know the local daylight conditions. The Coats Observatory on Oakshaw has recorded daily weather data since 1884, and that record shows Paisley gets enough daylight for most south-, east- or west-facing roofs. At 55.85°N, the long summer days generate a surplus that a battery can bank for evening use. We install through MCS-certified partners, and every system is priced at survey and confirmed on your written quote. Interest-free credit up to £30,000, subject to status.

What is Scot Energy Efficiency Ltd?

The parent brand that operates Solar Panels Paisley and similar advisory services across Scotland.

Solar Panels Paisley is a sub-brand of Scot Energy Efficiency Ltd. The advisory service operates from London (66 Paul Street, , EC2A 4NA). The Paisley brand exists because Renfrewshire has specific questions — about rain, tenements, conservation areas and SP Energy Networks — that a generic Scottish solar site cannot answer properly.

About Solar Panels Paisley — your questions

Is Solar Panels Paisley an installer?

No. We are an advisory and quotation service, a trading name of Scot Energy Efficiency Ltd. We install through MCS-certified partners, who survey, install and certify.

Who is your installation partner?

We install through MCS-certified partners, who cover Renfrewshire. Your contract for the installation is with them, not with us.

How do surveys work?

Our installation partner visits your property at no cost. They check roof structure, orientation, pitch, shading, the consumer unit and cable routes. For heat pumps, a heat loss survey checks insulation, radiators and hot water. You receive a written proposal within a few working days.

Is finance available?

Interest-free credit available, subject to status. We do not provide financial advice, and the terms that apply to you are confirmed in writing before you commit.

Why use an advisory service instead of going straight to an installer?

Because we give you an honest assessment before anyone visits. We tell you if solar is not suitable — for example, a north-only roof or a tenement without roof rights. We save you and the installer a wasted survey.

Do you sell my details to multiple installers?

No. Your enquiry goes to one advisory service and one installation partner. That is the whole chain. We do not pass your details to multiple companies.

What areas do you cover?

Paisley and all of Renfrewshire, including Renfrew, Johnstone, Erskine, Barrhead, Linwood, Houston, Bridge of Weir, Kilbarchan, Bishopton and Lochwinnoch. We do not reject postcodes.

Ready for your Paisley solar quote?

No obligation. No pressure. We will prepare a quote tailored to your home. We install through MCS-certified partners.
